As a response to the intrusive impact that modern progress has had on the environment and the natural habitats of animals, I started working with deer imagery during a residency at Cooper Union in 2005. In addition to cast-acrylic sculptures and large murals which also feature deer, I have been exploring those ideas in these smaller works ever since. The deer are representative of the fragility of all animal life in the face of human intervention.
